7/7/2016

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday July 7th, 2016 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Attorney Rich Burton and Chief Tirevold. Meeting was called to order by President Varnes at 7pm. Debra Augsburg was made Treasurer Pro Temp in the absence of Paul Brennan. Minutes of the June meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Augsburg motioned to accept the minutes, Varnes 2nd the motion. Bills were presented. Chief Tirevold discussed the bills. Augsburg motioned to pay the bills, Varnes 2nd the motion. Bills to get paid. Treasures report was discussed. Attorney Burton discussed the balances and updated on financial status. Augsburg motioned to accept the report, Varnes 2nd the motion, report accepted. Public Hearing was opened for discussion on the FY 16-17 Budget & Appropriation. There was no one from the public in attendance. Attorney Burton went over the figures for the budget. Discussion held. Augsburg motioned to accept Budget 16-17 (070716), Varnes 2nd the motion. New budget adopted. Attorney Burton to file paperwork.

Chief stated the department responded to 36 ambulance and 7 fire calls in June. The department is running about 30 calls ahead of last year at this time. Ambulance at Fosters in the body shop with all doors off, work going good and on schedule to have it back in August. S & K Excavating did gravel work on June 7th, Tom Thrush resealed the parking lot on June 2nd, yellow vests arrived on June 10th, new phone and head set purchased on June 9th for ambulance. FFs Leo Brennan and Caitlyn Wise attended NICOR fire school in May. Jon Jonassen and Carli Erickson have completed their probationary status and are now members as of July 7th. Chief briefly reported on July 4th activities. It went better than expected with the turnout. Trustee Augsburg complimented all staff on the good job of working together on the 4th, everything went smooth. Debra helped on the food line during the 4th.Chief discussed the purchase of a new Thermal Imaging Camera. After discussion it was tabled until the full board is together at the August meeting. Chief stated that 2017 would be the 50th Anniversary of the Fire District as it was voted on June 26th, 1967. Chief to start in the fall to maybe line something up for July 4th Open house.

8/4/2016

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday , August 4th, 2016 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold & Attorney Rich Burton. Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by President Varnes. Minutes of the July meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Brennan motioned to accept the minutes as read, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Bills for the month presented. Augsburg motioned to pay the bills, Brennan 2nd the motion. Bills to be paid. Treasurers report presented. 2nd Installment of property taxes have been received. Attorney Burton presented Resolution 080416, Authorization to transfer funds, $3000.00 each, from the Ambulance and General Fire Funds to the Audit fund & $30,500.00 each, from the Ambulance and General Fire Funds to the Debt Service Fund. Brennan motioned to accept the Resolution, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Funds to get transferred. Brennan motioned to accept the Treasures report, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Report accepted.

Chief stated the department responded to 38 ambulance and 3 fire calls for the month of July. Department is running 40 calls ahead of last year at this same time. Safety Report; heat related calls, kids, night time driving, tall corn at intersections blocking view of traffic. Ambulance 1 Mary 14 should be back next week from Foster Coach. Reds Truck repair came to station to fix power window problem on our only ambulance so we wouldn't have to take it out of service. Membership update, Jon Hurtig LOA til further notice, Caitlyn Wise (probationary status) was discharged from department for cheating on OSF System Entrance test. Chief stated he has been working with Phalen Steel on SW Corner water leak. Chief presented a 4 year maintenance agreement for the LP 15 Defib Units with Physio Control. After discussion, Augsburg motion to sign the 4 year maintenance agreement, Brennan 2nd the motion. Chief to contact Physio Control. Chief also discuss the purchasing of a new Thermal Imaging Camera. The camera we currently have is out dated and parts hard to come by. A new modern smaller version was shown to trustees. Chief stated the Firefighters Association agreed to give the District $2000.00 towards the purchase of a new camera. Discussion held. Augsburg motioned to purchase a new TIC, Brennan 2nd the motion. Laura Tirevold 30 year appreciation gift card ordered but has not been received. Being no other business, Brennan motioned to adjourn the meeting, Augsburg 2nd the motion. 9/1/2016

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday , September 1st, 2016 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold, Attorney Mike Fuller. Meeting called to order at 7 pm by President Varnes. Minutes of the August meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Augsburg motioned to accept the minutes as read, Brennan 2nd the motion. Bills for the month were presented and discussed. Brennan motioned to pay the bills, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Bills to get paid. Treasurers report presented. Chief stated all approved fund transfers have been made. Attorney Fuller stated Attorney Burton is finishing up financial numbers for the FY. Running On Call pay is currently $6535.00. Augsburg motioned to accept the report, Brennan 2nd the motion. Chief stated the department responded to 35 ambulance calls and no fire calls for the month of August. Department still running 42-44 calls ahead of last year at this time. Safety report-Kids are back in school and farm equipment will be out and running soon for harvest season. The station generator has been serviced, the new Thermal Imaging Camera has arrived, (it was shown to trustees), Mike Walker has been given all FY 15-16 material for audit, district inventories will be completed by 12/31/2016.

Chief had to renew Districts SAM# in order to apply for any grants at a cost of $597.00 with the Federal Government. Chief has not done anything with the Travel Expense policy. Chief discussed the ambulance that went out for refurb is back in service as of August 15th. Chief stated Phalen Steel was down to fix the leak in the SW corner of the station on Friday August 26th. Appears to have fixed the leak so far as no water has come in during recent rain. District had a 30 year appreciation Gift for Laura Tirevold who completed 30 years with the department in March 2016. She was not present to get the item, Chief to get the item to her. Augsburg motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 pm. Brennan 2nd the motion. Meeting adjourned

10/6/2016

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday , October 6th, 2016 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold, Attorney Burton. Meeting called to order by President Varnes at 7 pm. Minutes of the September meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Augsburg motioned to accept the minutes as read, Brennan 2nd the motion. Bills for the month discussed. Additional bill for $1793.75 for HLIB added to bills for a total of $16,757.16. Brennan motioned to pay the bills, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Treasurer's report discussed. Attorney Burton discussed Audit and balances, should have report by November meeting. Augsburg motioned to accept the Treasurers report, Brennan 2nd the motion. Running On Call payout is $7300.00 as of 10/1/2016. Chief stated the department responded to 22 ambulance and 4 fire calls for the month of September. Captain Crose--OSHA training classed to be held in January 2017, Flu shot for any trustees and members will be October 18th 5pm to 630 pm at FD. Captain Crose discussed the need of 3 Instructors for in house training from AHA. Captain is to get back to board with facts and figures. EMS Coordinator Rob McGraw has stepped down , he will be part time until a replacement is found. Discussion held on hospital system information. Hayley Hinterlong will be doing Fire Prevention week and Captain Crose will be attending the Village board meeting on October 10th to get waiver of fees, inspections and permits for a non occupied training structure the Firefighters Association would like to build. Captain Crose discussed the project, size, what's needed etc. Trustees agreed to let Association go ahead with the building of training structure. The Association will be paying for the entire project. Depending on location out back, wee may need additional lighting on the west side of building.The building committee will proceed with getting donations of material etc and a $500 donation has already been obtained for the structure.

Chiefs Report: Both ambulances in for test lane, IDPH will be here October 18th for inspections, CES was here and did the Fire Alarm system annual check. Physio Control was here and did annual maintenance on the defib units on 9/20. All ambulance radios and head set checked by Motorola, both antennas replaced. Discussion held on training structure out back. President Varnes suggested we include an area for crawl space rescue in the building somewhere. Chief stated he will be getting a new vacuum cleaner for FD as the other one is ready for the garbage. Chief presented a Maintenance agreement on the 2 cots in the ambulances from Stryker. Discussion held on why needed and cost of parts if we don't have one. After discussion, Brennan motioned to purchase a 5 year Protect Plus plan for both cots, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Chief to contact Stryker for paperwork. Chief discussed the need for a bench in the foyer. Trustees agreed to have Chief purchase one. Fire Department staff did smoke detector check at a home and replaced all batteries. Staff also did a fire drill at the 7th Day Adventist school in September along with a medical drill at the LaFarge gravel pit north of town with employees of the pit involved. LaSalle County Toys for Tots will be here at FD on Saturday November 5th and December 3rd to collect toys for needy kids in the county. A thank you card from Laura Tirevold was given to the trustees for her 30 years of service gift card that was given to her by the board last month. Brennan stated he will not be at the November meeting. Brennan motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 pm, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Meeting adjourned.

11/3/2016

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Chief Tirevold and Attorney Rich Burton. Meeting was called to order by President Varnes at 7:00pm. Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Bills were discussed. Motion by Augsburg, 2nd by Varnes to pay the bills. Treasurers report discussed. On Call for the year totals $7730.00 as of 10/31/2016. Augsburg motioned to accept the Treasurers report, Varnes 2nd the motion. Attorney Burton handed out the Annual Tax Levy for FY 2016-2017. Shows a 4.9% increase. No public hearing needed. After discussion Augsburg motioned to accept 110316 Tax Levy Ordinance, Varnes 2nd the motion. Attorney Burton handed out a draft copy of the Reimbursement policy the District needs to review and pass. Discussion held.

Chief stated the department responded to 4 fire calls and 27 ambulance calls during the month of October. The department is still running about 40 calls ahead of last year at this time. Safety report lots of deer running at night, farm equipment after dark out on roads. Chief ordered a bench for the foyer from HBI at the prison for less than $100.00. A new vacuum cleaner has been purchased. Station floors to be redone on 11/5/2016. IDPH inspections were held on 10/18/2016. All good to go, we had to purchase new infant restrain systems for each ambulance. Toys for Tots will be at station to collect toys on November 5th, from 9-12. Hayley Hinterlong and Chris Brown were given gas cards from BP for taking care of Fire Prevention week with the school kids. Capt. Crose will be attending the Village Board meeting in November in regards to the training building the Department would like to put up. Cub Scouts will be using the station on November 7th. Elections will be at FD on November 8th, 2016.

Chief took 1M13 (2002 ambulance) to Foster Coach to get a quote on what it would cost to refurb this rig with all new LED lighting , floor, some body work etc. just like 1 Mary 14. It would cost approx. $30,000 to get it refurbed. A new rig would be in the price range of $210,000 to $250,000 depending on what we would spec out on it. Hoping to get another 6-8 years out of these rigs and then the District can concentrate in paying the station loan off in that time. Trustees agreed to get the rig done in March 2017. Chief to contact Foster Coach to arrange things. Being no other business, Augsburg motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 pm. Varnes 2nd the motion. Meeting adjourned.

12/1/2016

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, December 1st, 2016 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold, Lt Blum and Attorney Rich Burton. President Varnes called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. In the absence of Secretary Augsburg, Paul Brennan was made Pro Temp Secretary for the meeting. Minutes of the November meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Brennan motioned to accept the minutes, Varnes 2nd the motion. Bills for the month presented. After discussion, Brennan motioned to pay the bills, Varnes 2nd the motion. Bills to get paid. Treasurers report presented. Annual On Call payout on 12/1/16 to the members was $8390.00 for the year. Chief handed out the current Expenditure/Income report to the last 7 months. Chief also mentioned the district has a $664,000.00 balance on the station loan. Brennan motioned to accept the report, Varnes 2nd the report. Chief stated the department responded to 29 ambulance and 2 fire calls for the month of November. The Department is currently running 53 ambulance calls ahead of last year at this time. Lt Blum discussed annual maintenance of the trucks all will be due in February and March annually. Also brought up the possibility of an Appreciation dinner in January or February. Lt Blum to bring to the Association meeting next week for discussion. Trustees behind what ever the Association wants to do. Safety report, some farm equipment still on road, Cold weather emergencies and Icy road conditions with the snow season coming.

Toys for Tots will be at FD on 12/3 to collect toys for LaSalle County kids. The Sheridan Community Club will be having the annual town Christmas Walk at the Fire Station with breakfast, Santa, Live reindeer, craft shows, other activities. Concealed Carry class to be held on 12/10-11,2016. The Village approve the training structure the department wants to erect on the west side of station. Mike Walker to present Audit in January 2017, as his server went down this week and unable to complete by tonight's meeting. Attorney Burton stated he has filed the State report. Stryker will be at FD on 12/7 to do annual maintenance on both cots, SCBA Inc will be at FD on 12/8 to flow test SCBA units along with all of Serenas SCBA Units. Chief presented 2017 Trustee meeting dates. Brennan motioned to accept the dates, Varnes 2nd the motion. Chief to get copies to everyone. The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, January 5th, with the following present: Chief Tirevold, Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Attorney Rich Burton. Meeting called to Order by President Varnes at 7 pm. Brennan motioned to accept the minutes as read with no additions or corrections. Augsburg 2nd the motion. Bills for the month discussed. Augsburg motioned to pay the bills, Brennan 2nd the motion, bills to get paid. Treasurers report presented. Discussion held on the audit and balances. Rich to get with Chief on book work. Brennan motioned to accept the report, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Chief stated the department responded to 28 amb calls and 2 fire calls in December. 2016 totals were 373 ambulance and 36 fire calls. Safety report icy road and cold weather emergencies.

Chief reported that Brush truck 831 and the T-1 Equipment trailer had new batteries installed on them. IPRF has awarded Sheridan $1741.00 for a grant, Chief to figure out what the district will be able to purchase with it. Donations received, Jack Kaiser memorial $190 to ambulance, Jo Ann Meyer $50 to Fire and David Pfoltner $200 to ambulance fund. Mike Walker was not present to discuss Audit. Attorney Burton handed out 01052017 Resolution regarding meetings for 2017. Augsburg motioned to pass the resolution, Brennnan 2nd the motion. Chief discussed the appreciation dinner to be held on February 25th at Hanks Farm in Ottawa. All members, trustees , other employees will be getting invites. District to pay for the dinner with a 6 pm start time.

Being no other business, Brennan motioned to adjourn the meeting, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:12 pm.

2/2/2017

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Chief Tirevold, Attorney Rich Burton and Lt Ollie Blum.

Meeting called to order by President Varnes at 7pm. Minutes of the January meeting were read with no additions or corrections. Augsburg motioned to accept the minutes as read. Varnes 2nd the motion.

Bills for the month were discussed. Augsburg motioned to pay the bills, Varnes 2nd the motion.

Treasures report gone over with the running On Call pay at $1485.00. Augsburg motioned to accept the report as presented, Varnes 2nd the motion.

Chief stated the department responded to 33 ambulance and 3 fire Calls for the month of January.

Lt Blum discussed the vehicle and equipment maintenance being done at Dept, MABAS meeting report on asset training to learn all MABAS equipment and July 4th activities. Also new recliner to be purchased by Association.

Safety Report--Cold weather emergencies, dress for it, don't take vehicles off hard roads.

Chief sent in paper work to $1742 IPRF grant for a new back pack blower and a cylinder lift system at a cost of about $2600 total. District has about $770 donation money we can put towards these 2 items.

New members Dan & Sarah Speerly and John Douglas have completed the probationary status. New applicant Brian Edgett -Paramedic took out application.

Appreciation Dinner to be held on 2/25 at Hanks Farm, Ottawa and Ambulance 1 Mary 13 is still on schedule to go to Foster Coach on March 1st, for refurb, ambulance will be down at least 2 months.

3/2/2017

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 with the following present: Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold & Attorney Rich Burton. Meeting called to order at 7 pm by Trustee Augsburg.

Augsburg was made President Pro Temp in the absence of President Varnes. Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Bills presented and discussed. Brennan motioned to pay the bills, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Treasurers report gone over. Brennan motioned to accept the report as presented. Augsburg 2nd the motion.

Chief stated the running on call amount is $2170.00 as of 3/1/2017. Chief and Attorney Burton to start working on FY 17-18 B & A. Chief mentioned the possibility of transferring $125,000 from the General Fire & Ambulance funds to their respective Reserve Funds at the April meeting.

The department responded to 33 ambulance and 6 fire calls in February. 1 Mary 13 went to Foster Coach for refurb job ahead of schedule. Brush truck 831 went to Reds for repair. 36 people attended the appreciation dinner at Hanks Farm on 2/25/17. All went well. Doug Houde and Madison Devlin took out applications for Firefighters. Lt Matt Platt will be resigning from the Fire Department on 3/7 due to him moving out of state.

Chief explained the necessity of a new printer in the officers office. The current printer is 10 plus years old, and does not operate correctly due to the 3 different operating systems we have on the laptops. Trustees approved Chief to purchase new printer for the officer. Old printer will be given away to a member of the department who ever speaks first for it. 2 new bunker coats will be ordered once we get the individuals sized up for them. Chief discussed the MABAS call out for the Fire department and Ambulance during the Naplate/Ottawa tornado situation. Engine 812, T-1 Equipment Trailer and ambulance called out for help. Staff were out for approximately 7 hours that night. Chief discussed the purchasing of 600 ft of 2" hose. After a couple of structure fires recently and manpower shortage, Chief explained why the 2" would be utilized easier . After discussion, Trustees approved Chief to purchase 600 feet of 2" fire hose. Chief stated April 4th elections will be held at FD and also on April 8th the Community Club will hold Easter festivities here at FD. Trustee Augsburg inquired about FOIA training updates. Chief to check on it.

Being no other business, Brennan motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 pm. Augsburg 2nd the motion, meeting was adjourned.

4/6/2017

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, April 6th, 2017 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold and Attorney Rich Burton. Meeting called to order by President Varnes at 7 pm. Minutes from the March meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Brennan motioned to accept the minutes as read, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Bills presented for the month. After discussion, Augsburg motioned to pay the bills, Brennan 2nd the motion. Treasurers report presented. The annual on call pay is $3555.00 up to this date. Chief stated 7 members were paid $100 a piece for a MABAS call out during the Tornados in Ottawa and Naplate since they were gone for about 6-7 hours. Brennan motioned to accept the Treasurers report, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Attorney Burton discussed the financial balances of the district comparing the to the audit balances. Chief Tirevold and Rich to get with Auditor in the next couple weeks to discuss the situation. Rich also handed out Resolution #040617, Budget hearing for FY 17-18 Budget. Augburg motioned to pass the resolution, Brennan Accepted it. The hearing will be at the June 1st, Trustee meeting. Attorney Burton also handed out a copy for review, of the FY 17-18 B & A figures with no major changes. Chief and Rich met on figures and the Chief stated he would like to concentrate on the building loan this year and next since we wont be buying any ambulances to soon as both of the just got refurbed. Also in the next year or two, the district should look at buying a "new" USED fire engine for the district instead of a new one. Chief Tirevold stated the District cant really justify a brand new engine for the amount of calls we respond to. Attoney Burton handed out Resolution #040617-1, Transfer of Funds( dollar figures on file). Monies for the General Ambulance & Fire Funds will be transferred in to the Audit, Fire and Ambulance Reserves & Debt Service Accounts. Augsburg motioned to transfer the funds as stated in the resolution, Brennan 2nd the motion. Transfers to be made. Chief stated the department responded to 20 ambulance and 3 fire calls for the month of March. Safety Report--Farm machinery soon to be out on the road, more people out with the weather turning nice. All Emergency vehicle stay on hard surface due to all the rain weve had. Chief reported on the following matters: Roof leak fixed over by VENT pip on NE side station, Phalen Steel came out this week to repair. Ordered items are the 2 inch hose, 2 sets of bunker gear for members, tank lift from the IPRF Grant. Chief purchased from Homer Fire Protection District for $800, a used oxygen tank fill station. There were 2 new applications filled out for membership, Lt Ollie Blum received his instructor certificate from the OSFM for the Fire Service. Two probationary members will be attending the Plainfield 1 day hands on fire training for new cadet and junior firefighters at no cost to department. NICOR is holding their annual Fire School in May in Troy Grove. Capt Crose in charge is EMS for the Unit 2 Prom Drill to be held on May 1st, 2017. Chief discussed the MABAS call out to Ottawa/Naplate for the tornados. Sheridan sent and ambulance, engine and equipment trailer to the area to help. Crews were gone for about 7 hours. Chief stated the entire area on 4/5/2017 was without power except FD. Sheridan was asked to provide portable lighting to the Correctional Center due to 100% no power out there due to no generators were working. County and MABAS Div #25 also brought up 2 Tower light set ups. Chief discussed the need for 2 sets of Crib Slide blocks and 2 Door jamb stabilizers for 1 M 13 that just came back from Foster Coach. After Discussion Augsburg motioned to purchase the Slide Blocks and the Stabilizers for a cost of about $1140.00. Brennan 2nd the motion. Chief to get them ordered. Also discussed was the possible purchase of a used Bullex Fire Extinguisher Training Simulator. After discussion Trustees tabled until next month to do some back ground checking on it and the pricing of them. Community Club will hold the Easter Festivities on April 8, at the FD. Chief brought up the Book keepers monthly fee. After discussion, trustees agreed to raise Julie Davids monthly pay to $150.00. Discussion on the annual insurance. No big changes, annual premium went up minimally. No invoice has been received yet. Being no other business Augsburg motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:47 pm, Brennan 2nd the motion. The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 with the following present: Robert Varnes, Debra Augsburg, Paul Brennan, Chief Tirevold, Attorney Mike Fuller. Meeting called to order by President Varnes at 7pm. Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Augsburg motioned to accept the minutes as presented, Brennan 2nd the motion. Bills for the month presented for payment. After discussion Brennan motioned to pay the bills, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Bills to be paid. Treasurers report presented. Balances were discussed. Augsburg motioned to accept the report, Brennan 2nd the motion. Chief reported the running On Call pay is at $4070.00 as of April 30th. Attorney Fuller handed out the FY 17-18 B & A for review, District just received the County information on taxes to be received. Attorney Fuller and Burton will get those into the Budget. Public hearing schedule for the June 1st meeting. Chief reported the department responded to 28 ambulance and 2 fire calls during the month of April.

Officers reports--802--has 2 community service people working in hours ordered by the courts. AC Cook explained the procedure to do Community Service at the department.

802--Captain Crose advised the board he is stepping down as the Captain for the Department. He will remain on department and also help where needed along with EMS training. The Board thanked Jason for his time and contributions to the department.

804-Lt Blum--Nothing--805--New Lt Lynch thanked the officers for the opportunity for getting the Lt position. Looking forward to assisting and moving forward with the department

Safety Report-farm machinery on the roads, keep vehicles on the hard roads due to all the recent rain and kids will be getting out of school soon.

Attorney Fuller presented Resolution 050417--Reimbursement on Travel, Food, Lodging & Education. Brennan motioned to pass this resolution, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Annual appointment Resolution 050417-1 was presented. Brennan motioned to accept the annual appointment resolution, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Appointments accepted. Chief stated Pat Lynch is a new Fire Lt and Marla Hardyman will take over as EMS coordinator for the District effective immediately. 1 Person is going to Fire College, 2 Probies are going to fire training on May 6th. The new Tank Lift has been received from IPRF Grant. No one going to NICOR Fire School as of yet. Being no other business, Brennan motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 pm, Augsburg 2nd the motion. Meeting Minutes

6/1/2017

The Sheridan Fire District Trustees met on Thursday, June 1st, with the following present: Paul Brennan, Debra Augsburg, Chief Tirevold and Attorney Rich Burton. Meeting was called to order at 7 pm by Paul Brennan. Brennan was made President Pro Temp in the absence of Robert Varnes. Minutes were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Augsburg motioned to accept the minutes, Brennan 2nd the motion. Bills for the month were discussed, Chief went over the bills with additional bills added. After discussion Augsburg motioned to pay the bills, Brennan 2nd the motion. Bills are to get paid. Treasurers report discussed. Running on call pay is at $4505.00. Discussion held on balances. Augsburg motioned to accept the report as presented, Brennan 2nd the motion. Attorney Burton presented the FY 17-18 Budget & Appropriation. Public hearing opened for comments. No comments from the public on the Budget. Discussion held on figures, Augsburg motioned to accept FY 17-18 B & A, # 060117, Brennan 2nd the motion. Budget accepted. Chief reported 21 ambulance and 7 fire calls for May.

Officers Report--802 Nothing, 804--MABAS update, Fire College, Training Building, Smoke detector program with Red Cross and July 4th. New EMS coordinator, Marla Hardyman--nothing.

Safety report- farmers in field, kids out of school, staff do walk around vehicle prior to moving it. Vehicle report Both ambulances up and running, 1 M 14 had front end alignment and king pins replaced, 1 M 13 had rear brake line and rear brakes replaced. Scene dots received for 812 and 831.

4 firefighters will be attending Annual Fire College in Champaign, 1 firefighter went to NICROR Fire School. Marla Hardyman will be the new EMS coordinator for the district. Attorney Burton handed out 060117-1 Prevailing Wage Ordinance. Augsburg motion to accept the Ordinance, Brennan 2nd the motion. Chief reported that Phalen Steel has completed replacing the steel column that was damaged, Anagnos Doors will be here 6/5/17 to finish the door rail replacement. Chief to check on truck repair status. AC Cook has community service people painting the yellow poles in front of the OH doors. Chief requested the district purchase 28 soffit light covers due to the birds building nests up in the light sockets. Approx cost is $500 with shipping. Chief requested the district purchase a new printer for the radio room as the one in there is not working right. The computer has to be re booted every time you need to print, it prints after re booted. Chief stated he would get the cheaper version of the one just purchased in the Officers office. Trustees approved purchase of new printer. No other business, Augsburg motioned to adjourn the meeting, Brennan 2nd the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm
